About Us

Wayne and Rhonda
Athens, AL, United States
Our first purchase as newlyweds in 1977 was a boat. We have boated throughout the eastern half of the country and have owned a 16' Newman bowrider, a 17' MacGregor sailboat, a 22' SeaRay Sundancer, and 3 trawlers - a 32' Grand Banks, 41' Roughwater, and 44' Gulfstar. After retiring in 2005, we began to take longer boat trips and also satisfied a long-time interest - managing a marina. We lived aboard full-time for almost 6 years and traveled about 8000 miles during that time, including completing the Great Loop Cruise. We returned to our home port and condo at Lucy's Branch Marina, mm 287 on the TN River for a couple of years and then decided to sell the Gulfstar, buy a motorcycle (2017 Heritage Softail Classic) and RV (2016 Grand Design Momentum 5th wheel toyhauler) to see the portions of the country we had not traveled. We covered 19 states - 12,000 miles in the RV and 4000 miles on the Softail. We sold the RV and have recently built a new home (our last) and returned to Lewis Smith Lake in Cullman, AL (previously resided here from 1993-2005). We are landlocked again but our younger son's family is next door and we kept the motorcycle! Currently searching for our final boat.
